Passport-Based Onboarding allows eligible customers with a valid UAE employment visa to open a Payit account using their passport before obtaining an Emirates ID.

If Payit is unable to verify your passport, visa, identity, or other required information, you will not be able to continue with the onboarding process. You may be able to apply later using your Emirates ID through Payit’s standard onboarding journey once your Emirates ID has been issued.
Pre-Arrival Onboarding (Outside UAE)
Your Payit account will be created once the required verification and compliance checks are successfully completed. However, the account will remain inactive until you arrive in the UAE and update your UAE mobile number.
Post-Arrival Activation (Within UAE)
After arriving in the UAE, you must complete the account activation by updating and verify your UAE mobile number in the Payit app.
Once these activation steps and required validation checks are successfully completed, your Payit account will be activated and ready to use.

Yes. A valid UAE mobile number must be registered and verified before account activation.
No. You can activate your Payit account before receiving your Emirates ID. However, you must update your Emirates ID details within 60 days of activation.
After account activation, you have up to 60 days to provide and verify your Emirates ID in the Payit app. This gives you time to complete the Emirates ID issuance process after arriving in the UAE.
Yes. Customers are encouraged to update their Emirates ID as soon as it becomes available.
Yes. During the 60-day period, you can access most Payit services and enjoy the benefits of your Payit account while your Emirates ID is being processed.
No. Account activation can only be completed after you arrive in the UAE and complete the required activation checks.
Your account will remain inactive until you complete the activation process after arriving in the UAE. Please complete activation as soon as possible to start using Payit services.
Yes. An international mobile number can be updated once. Thereafter, a verified UAE mobile number is required for account activation and ongoing use of your Payit account.
Certain services may not be available until your Emirates ID has been updated, including:
To continue using Payit, you must update your Emirates ID within the required timeframe. Failure to do so may result in your account being suspended or terminated, restricting access to Payit services.
Your access to Payit services may be restricted until the required Emirates ID verification is successfully completed.
Yes. If your account is suspended due to non-submission of your Emirates ID, you may be able to reactivate it by successfully updating and verifying your Emirates ID, subject to Payit’s verification, review process.
